Temple of Palmir - Marbot
The Temple of Palmir is a large multi-floor library with a shrine to Palmir on every floor. The priests will stock any book, from any where and allow the readers to come to their own conclusions. If the books writer states his writing is fictional, then the priests will label it the same, otherwise, the book will be placed in the non-fiction sections.
History of Our World
By Kemistor Fledge

In the beginning this world of ours was savage and evil. Yoncie Frellith of the first order was guided to this world to cleanse it of its evil, which he accomplished. He brought peace and tranquility to this world by destroying or running off the monstrous and evil creatures that defiled it. Peace rang supreme until the others found it. Elves, dwarves, lizard people and abominations arrived in masses bringing their greed, their evil, their false gods and barbaric ways to the world. Of course with so much evil flowing in from only the gods know here wars started between them, the evil infected everything, causing much strife, causing good people to do bad things. The evil gave them no choice, the goodly folk of the light had to stand up against the evil that was attempting to retake this sacred world. Alas the evil ran to deep, corrupted to many pure hearts. The remaining pure souls had to flee the sacred world but vowed to return to purge the evil and return the world back to its natural state.
From those that remained behind, empires were formed and history forgotten by many, or corrupted by the elves and their scrolls of lies, half-truths and fictional stories. But out of this chaos and darkness came to this world the light that is the Unuche Empire, the only source of true purity left in this world. And it remained pure, until a brother was corrupted and consorted with elves; he broke from the empire and raged war upon his sister. Upon his death he gave the south to his four bastard sons to further spread corruption and keep the people of the light divided and weak. Curse those four kings to the south and curse their kingdoms. The Unuche Empire will reign, it will endure, it will survive until the light returns!
The True and Complete History of the Great City of Marbot

Marbot. A city that holds a great history, one that many have forgotten, ignored or attempted to defile. Though many structures date back 1000 years before and the land being held by many different factions and races, the true City of Marbot starts with a simple challenge; “Come at me you pig faced son of a kobold!” This challenge shouted by Thashe Marbot across the battle field to the orc king Trugagh the Elf Slayer just before taking his head. It is that day that we truly start the history of our great city. It is because on that day, the city was named, it had its first true leader and from that day, it endured.
Nearly 1500 years pass as the city grows and prospers. Several events transpire to the north such as the invasion of a several barbarian tribes into the elven and dwarf lands that later brought in the Unuche Empire. Though that war never made it to the south, several prominent warriors did fight in that war; Vargus Hummton, Wilnut Grasee, and Unella Indoa just to name a few. During this time the city did experience some growing pains. There were arguments, changes in leadership, and changes in forms of government. Many of these things were sorted out in their due time and and by 1500 MC the city had known nearly 500 years of peace.
But then in 1530 MC, skirmishes by dragons began to take place over the skies, in the oceans and in the fields outside and inside many cities across Guthen. Marbot I believe took the brunt of it. Entire sections of the city were laid to waste and thousands of citizens died. This battle of dragons lasted about 500 years before it finally ended.
At about 2080 MC sections of the city began to collapse and dwarves from the under stronghold poured into the city, the citizens fought back, quickly gaining the upper hand and forcing them back down into their tunnels. This war lasted nearly 50 years of a stalemate with neither side gaining any grown above or below. Finally in 2129 the dwarves formed a cue and killed their insane king. The new king Juthur Longscar signed a treaty with Marbot and entered into a trade agreement and a protection pact, one that has lasted so far to this day.
The World's Great Anomalies

One of the greatest of mysterious anomalies in our world has to be the Ocean Vale; a great wall of electrically charged fog that covers an area of the world nearly the size of the Guthen continent itself and completely domes that area. Many have attempted to navigate through it, and claim they were whisked across the globe, while adventurers that are more reputable simply vanished. Though many argue about what the Ocean Vale can possibly be, the obvious answer is a simple one, this is a gateway into the elemental plane of water, and the electrical fog holds back the waters and allowing one-way passage into that plane.
The Alaster people, although appear to be dwarves, halfings and half-orc are truly unique. These peoples share no history or relations with any of the races they have been named for, except for appearance. These people have grown to be hardier and more resistant to the elements then the rest of us. For this reason it is a forgone conclusion; their roots are from the elemental planes. Perhaps they came from the planes of earth and fire and adapted to this world, or even they are the mating between real people and elementals. Either way these beings should be called elementals and not associated with the human or demi-human races.
It has been rumored for several centuries that the race of beings called Orrfit are or were at one time of the Orc race. A demon-dragon or some such creature transformed them into what we now call Orrfit. By their appearance, dark cracked skin, that appears more like chard flesh than true skin, with hair that is crusted in earth and their fiery red eyes, can lead us to a single conclusion. These beings are related to the Alaster Elemental Demi-Humans. I would suspect they are an offshoot of the Alaster Elemental Orcs.
Carnile Bloodfinger's Basic Guide to the Undead

It is best not to confuse the undead with animation. Undead are created by use of magic to tap into the residual life force and memory of a dead body to “animate” it. Many confuse this with magic that animates objects by creating a force around the object that causes it to move at the casters will. An animated skeleton can be missing parts, like a foot or part of a leg and still walk as if it were still intact. An undead however cannot, it requires something to support its weight or like us it will simply fall over.
Undead come in various levels of power from the skeleton to the lich. Some are created by magic wielding psychopaths while other are self-created through their strong will. Creatures known as shadows are not real undead, they are elementals, but are affected by positive energy just like undead are, so many people confuse them.
In most cases, items made from silver will inflict great harm on an undead. This is because silver is a positive energy metal and it breaks down the connection to the negative elemental plane. Holy water generally will do the same. Healing magic, depending on the deity, will also harm undead, some however will heal the flesh or bone and not have any real effect on the creature.
Most undead are created by shifting the balance of Positive and negative energies in a living or once living object. This energy flow is what causes us to age at a normal rate, speed it up and we age faster, slow it down we age slower, reverse it and we create undead.

Polmuth's Canyon: Named after the discover, this is the known deepest place on Altris, this canyon is located in the lands called Rythyn in the south-west section of Guthen. The canyon runs 135 miles from end to end and is about 2 to 6 miles wide. The canyon has an average depth of 24,000 feet with the lowest point at 31,210 feet. The bottom of the canyon is always dry, water can be found though, in one of the millions of caves and the connected cavern systems. Even when it rains on the surface, the rain fall never makes it to the bottom of the canyon; it just seems to disappear into nothingness.
The Great Vale: A location in the western ocean that is covered in a dense fog, any and all attempts to explore or pass through the Vale have been met with disasterous or mysterious results. Many scholars have concluded that this vale is some sort of doorway to another place, while others have concluded it is a sort of protective barrier caging in some terrible water beast. Regardless of what it is, nearly everyone agrees to just steer clear of it.
